Salsa Step 3: Outside Turn – part of the women’s fitness video series by GeoBeats.

Here with my partner Sarit, we are on step number 3 in the salsa. We start with the basic step, basic step, basic step. I am just going to lift my hand, Sarit is going to walk around, walk around, step, we are still on the same timing. Rock, step, step. Rock, step, step. Walk around, turn, also known as the “outside turn”.

Some tips on the outside turn would be such: you want to have your leads be very clear men, because you do not want your ladies making all those choices for you, right? So what we do is we take the lady by the hand, and we have just a regular hand-hold here, you see like a little hook, right. And so what I will do in order to turn her is I will go to a flat palm like you are high-fiving. Then you will take and just turn like you are stirring a pot, and come back down to your nice hook. And that is how you lead step number three, the outside turn.
